A tanker off the coast of Gabon was the victim of a pirate attack on July 15. The vessel, a chemical/oil products tanker, was hijacked by suspected pirates with itsĀ 24 Indian crewmembers onboard.
The Malta-flagged MV Cotton was reportedly over taken by pirates 15 miles off Port Gentil.
The tanker was waiting to berth in the Gulf of Guinea at the time of the hijack.
There were not any other details available at the time of writing except that the vessel was owned by a Turkish shipping firm.
