Protesters Shut in OML 29 Flows

Monday, May 25, 2015

OML 29 in Nigeria’s Bayelsa state saw two of its flow stations near Nembe shut down by area youths on May 22. The youths are protesting the sale of the block.

Shell sold its stake in the block and its accompanying facilities to Aiteo Eastern E&P in March. Total and ENI also agreed to sell their minority stakes, giving Aiteo a 45% stake.

The exact amount of production shut in is not yet clear.
