Protests at Zueitina Port

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Protests shut in operations at Libya’s Zueitina port on August 12, as workers protested working conditions and demanded the payment of their salaries.

Zueitina serves as an export terminal for Zueitina Oil Company, a JV between state-run NOC, Occidental Petroleum, and OMV.

The local union leader, Merhi Abridan, told Reuters that between 3,600,000 to 3,780,000 barrels are exported from the site per month.
