Chevron’s refinery in South Africa has been forced to reduce its processing capacity due to mechanical issues. Chevron said it expects the refinery, which normally has an output of 110,000 bpd, to resume full capacity by the end of the month.
Suzanne Pullinger, spokeswoman for Chevron South Africa, said in a statement that the reining in of capacity could lead to supply disruptions for petrol, diesel, and LPG.
“We are therefore implementing all the necessary measures, including securing contingency product supplies of petrol and diesel to address potential shortfalls,” she said.
