BJ Services Awarded Contract By Shell
Cementing Services Supplied Offshore
ABERDEEN, Scotland – 20 April 2007 — BJ Services Company today announced that its well services Europe and Africa region operations have been awarded a contract by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCO) to provide cementing services offshore Nigeria.
SNEPCO awarded the multi-million dollar contract to support operations on Bonga Main and Bonga SW Fields. BJ has commenced operations on Bonga Main working from the Transocean Sedco 709 semi-submersible drilling unit in depths of up to 6,500 feet. Services on Bonga SW are scheduled to begin in late 2007. Services from two additional rigs will also be carried out in late 2009 and early 2010.
