Rowan Renaissance Arrives Offshore Namibia

The rig that will be used to drill the Welwitschia-1 well offshore Namibia for Repsol and Tower Resources, the Rowan Renaissance drillship, as arrived offshore the country. Tower confirmed in a release that the drillship had arrived in Walvis Bay as expected.

This Rowan Renaissance will now undergo the scheduled preparation and final acceptance testing begin its three year contract with the company. It is still expected to commence its operations for Wlewitschia-1 well, on or around April 11, with the spud being about one week later.
