Ruvuma Farm Out Talks Advance

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Aminex is continuing its discussions to farm out a stake in its Ruvuma acreage, including the Ntorya appraisal area. The company is in advanced talks with an affiliate of Zubair Corp.

The company said it has renamed its upcoming well the Chikumbi-1 at the request of the Tanzanian government. The well was formerly the Ntorya-3 well which is being drilled to target the same reservoir tested in the Ntorya-1 and Ntorya-2 in an updip position. The well could also possibly test a deeper target.

The tendering process for a rig to drill the Chikumbi-1 well is set to close during Q2 with an expected spud date later in the year. The exact date will be determined by rig availability.

In addition, Aminex revealed that the National Environment Management Council has approved the Environmental Impact Assessment status for the acquisition of further 2D and 3D seismic data over the Ruvuma PSA acreage, focusing on the Ntorya discovery area.
