Samir Liquidation Postponed

Friday, July 21, 2017

The liquidation of Morocco’s Samir refinery has been postponed until October 21 according to Mohammed El-Krimi, who is in charge of the liquidation process. The extension to October 21 gives time for a buyer for the refinery to be found.

Reuters reported that two sources close to the matter recently said that two new offers have recently been received, however the offers were not sufficient.

There have been 20 offers made for the $2.1 billion refinery. Bidders for the plant included Carlyle Group, Glencore, and Anglo Energy.
