Sasol is looking to expand around the continent and is eying Angola, Ghana, and Tanzania as possible new markets. The company’s CEO, David E. Constable, when asked by Reuters what countries the company was looking at, said, “Angola, Ghana onshore and Tanzania, those types of countries is where we’ll take a run.” Constable said the company would consider going into already producing assets, into existing blocks as a non-operator, or take part in oil or gas exploration in these countries.
While Sasol maybe considering expansion outside its current purview in the future if the opportunity presents itself, right now its focus is on Mozambique. Currently the company is in the process of conducting a study to construct a GTL plant there.
