South African petrochemical giant Sasol Petroleum is still trying to decide on whether it will be developing its two discoveries in Mozambique. The company’s CEO, David Constable, said the decision should be made in the next 18 months.
In late-2012 the company notified the Mozambican government that it had found commercially viable oil and gas fields and that it was considering future development.
“We’re advancing the best projects that will provide the best return for our shareholders,” said Constable, adding that one of those projects could be out of Mozambique.
