Tunisia could be getting a new power station in Monragia if a deal currently in the works pans out. The Tunisian Ministry of Development, Investment, and International Cooperation reached an agreement with the Saudi Fund that has it financing the construction of the power station.
Tunisia and Saudi Arabia concluded the deal during a bilateral meeting in Riyadh in the presence of Saudi King Salman and Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.
Previously the Tunisian Company for Electricity and Gas and the Islamic Development Bank had signed an agreement worth $200 million to co-finance the Monragia power plant.
