Savannah Petroleum signed a framework contract with BGP Niger for the provision of 2D and 3D land seismic acquisition services over its R1/R2 and R3/R4 PSC license areas in southeastern Niger.
The company anticipates that work under the contract will commence in H1.
Savannah’s acreage covers around 13,665 sq km, which represents approximately 50% of the original Agadem permit that was mandatorily relinquished by CNPC under its agreement with the government of Niger. CNPC had made 93 discoveries over the whole Agadem permit during a six-year period on the acreage with the drilling 124 exploration wells.
Savannah currently has 29 leads mapped on the acreage based on 2D seismic data, both modern and legacy.
