SDX Energy has a busy program planned in North Africa over H2 and beyond. In Egypt on its North West Gemsa concession it plans to complete up to 12 well workovers focused on ESP installation/maintenance and tubing maintenance to ensure production uptime. The company also plans to complete unitization arrangement with the offset operator and prepare for any additional development activities.
At the Meseda SDX plans to drill two development wells, pending government approval, and two exploration wells. It will also replace up to six ESPs on the concession and continue with its waterflood program and facility capacity upgrade.
With an eye toward adding to its production totals in early 2018, SDX will complete its development planning on the South Disouq concession’s SD-1X discovery. H2 will also see the company preparing to enter into the second exploration phase on the South Disouqto continue the targeting of the deeper oil potential confirmed in SD-1X and the additional prospective gas resources outside of the SD-1X discovery area.
Moving west into Morocco, the company plans to drill up to five development/appraisal wells in H2 on the Sebou permit. The companyis looking to increase gas volumes to existing customers and enter into contracts with and start supplying volumes to new customers.
Drilling will also be seen on the Lalla Mimouna permit. SDX said it will drill two exploration prospects during the period. On the recently acquired exploration acreage, the Gharb Center, the company will commence preparations for the acquisition of 200 sq km of 3D seismic in 2018.
