September 6, 2014; Lagos, Nigeria: Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc on behalf of the NPDC/Seplat JV has joined other well-meaning Nigerian corporates in donating to the cause of eradication of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) by donating N30, 000.00 (thirty million Naira only) to First Consultants Medical Centre, Lagos and N20, 000,000.00 (Twenty Million Naira) to the Lagos Isolation Centre.
Seplat recognizes the great sacrifices that this unfortunate outbreak has brought upon First Consultants Medical Centre – Lagos, the hospital where the EVD was first handled in Nigeria. Due largely to the professionalism they displayed in handling this difficult case, the nation has managed to keep the spread of the disease reasonably under control, howbeit, at great cost in human and material assets to the hospital.
Seplat, further appreciates the prompt setting up of the Lagos Isolation Centre and the pivotal role it has played in curtailing the spread of the disease.
