Serinus to Restart Chouech Es Saida in Q1

Monday, October 22, 2018

Serinus Energy is preparing to restart production of oil and gas on Tunisia’s Chouech Es Saida field in Q1 2019.

Reportedly, discussions with the authorities have “progressed” and, subject to settlement in an administrative proceeding, the work will start on schedule. The field has been closed since 2017 due to disagreements between employer and workers.

In addition, Serinus will soon launch tenders to maximize its energy supply on the spot. The company generates about 1,160 boepd of production but since the workers’ protests began in early 2017, production plummeted until the company was forced to close the site.
