Sunday, November 27, 2016

Shell is in talks to sell its onshore holdings in Gabon. Bids for the assets from interested parties were due in June. The sale of its Gabonese assets is part of a $30 billion divestiture program the major launched following its acquisition of BG Group in February.

The firm plans to exit operations in five to 10 countries it operates in and to date it has sold off or agreed to sell about $6 billion in assets.

Its Gabonese assets are estimated to be worth around $700 million, according to a Reuters source.
