Shell to Resume Egyptian Exploration

Shell will resume exploration offshore Egypt in the deepwater of the Mediterranean.

Production from Shell’s operations at the West Nile Delta 9B project, which is acquired when it purchased BG Group, is forecast to reach 350-400 Mmcf/d of natural gas next year. The company expects to bring the first three wells for this phase of the project online this year.

Shell is partnered on the West Nile Delta 9B project with Malaysian firm Petronas.
