Sirte Oil Company (SOC) has resumed development drilling activity on Libya’sSahl field at well No. O23-6. This follows a four-year hiatus in drilling on the field as a result of the local security situation.
The drilling is part of NOC’s approval of the 2018 development drilling plan in earlyAugust.
SOC deployed the APHRON drilling technique on this well, under the supervision of the Al-Jowfe Oil Technology Company – a modern drilling technology and new drilling fluid system. Drilling focused on the Gailo formation, with production tested at about 7 Mmcf/d of gas and 50 barrels of condensate.
