Sonangol, Angola’s state oil company, saw its output from the Qaiyarah oilfield in North Iraq reach 40,000 bpd. The Angolan firm holds a 75% stake in the Qayyarah oil field, as well as the Najmah field.
The fields, located south of Mosul, have estimated oil reserves of more than 1 billion barrels.
Sonangol said it aims to lift production levels at the fields to about 230,000 bpd, according to a Reuters report.
