Sonatrach and Shell Ink MoU on Supply and Trading

Algeria’s National Hydrocarbons Company Sonatrach and Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding, which provides a framework for companies to explore means of cooperation on the supply and trading of hydrocarbons, said a statement from Sonatrach.

This Memorandum of Understanding provides a “framework for companies to explore means of cooperation on the supply and trading of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products as well as on trade in environmental products,” Sonatrach said.

The agreement will also allow “the two companies to discuss ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve carbon management practices,” the company statement added.
