Sonatrach has announced its latest oil discovery with the OU EST-1 (LTE-1) well in the Sbâa concession, Hassi Illatou. This discovery comes 28 years after the last oil discovery made in the Sbâa region in 1994. It is located 6 km from the Hassi Illatou treatment center.
The preliminary estimate of the volumes of this discovery gives a volume in place between 48 and 150 million barrels.
This positive result is very encouraging for the continuation of the liquid hydrocarbon exploration activity in the Sbâa region in order to guarantee supplies to the Adrar refinery.
