Kenya will see a restart of exploration and appraisal drilling in its South Lokichar field by Tullow Oil in December according to the company’s VP, Tim O’Hanlon.
Speaking to attendees at Africa Oil Week in Cape Town O’Hanlon said, “A recent 3D survey shows additional upside potential.”
During his presentation he also revealed that in Uganda, where the company has 1.7 billion barrels of oil to develop, it is targeting an export pipeline capable of taking 200,000-230,000 bpd to Tanga port in Tanzania.
He said FEED of the pipeline will start next year and a FID was expected in 2018.
