Statoil acquired a participating interest in two additional blocks in Africa. According to the company it has picked up two offshore blocks, including one operator ship, offshore South Africa.
The Norwegian firm acquired a 35% stake from US supermajor ExxonMobil. The US firm retains a 40% stake in the block and Impact Africa holds the remaining 25%.
In addition, Statoil picked up a 90% interest and operatorship in an adjacent block from OK Energy.
