Four companies have been short-listed by the government of Sao Tome and Principe (STP) to bid on oil blocks in the country’s EEZ. The government is offering two blocks in the EEZ and announced its plans to open a new licensing round for its blocks 1 and 6 January.
One of the companies on the shortlist is Portugal’s Galp Energia. A statement issued by the STP state-run ANP said little known firms New World Oil & Gas, Blue Skies World Group and London Global Energy are in the running also. Galp and New World will bid on both blocks, while Blue Skies is seeking Block 1 and London Global will bid on Block 6.
“The result of the analysis of expressions of interest will be announced shortly,” the statement said.
