Sunbird Posts Contingent Resources

Sunbird Energy Ltd saw the completion of an Independent Resource Assessment of its Mopane Coal Bed Methane (CBM) project (SNY 74%) in South Africa. Results from the independent certification of Sunbird’s CBM project revealed that the Mopane contains 2C contingent resources of 644 Bcf and 3C contingent resources of 1.018 Tcf.

The company also revealed that the results from the current drilling program and the contingent resource certification support the potential for a large scale CBM development. Sunbird continues it drilling program, which is aimed at expanding its resource base for the asset and initial pilot production is planned for 2014.
