Suretank, the global leader in the manufacture of cargo carrying units and tanks to the offshore industry, has signed a four year deal with Halliburton to supply all of its offshore equipment in Latin America.
Containers, baskets, tanks, skids, workshops and tool boxes will be amongst some of the equipment manufactured and supplied by Suretank’s Latin America facility located in Caxias do Sul in Southern Brazil.
It was the combination of international compliance with DNV 2.7-1 standards together with the local service and competitive costs that determined the winning bid.
Marco Pfeiffer, CEO Suretank Latin America, explained: “The favourable exchange rate means that products manufactured in Brazil for the local market are much more competitively priced than those sourced in Europe or Asia.
“Suretank manufactures to the highest safety standards worldwide therefore we are able to guarantee Halliburton’s Brazilian operations world class engineering technology as well as local manufacturing expertise and market knowledge, and products delivered within short lead times.”
Suretank Latin America offers the complete product range from drilling, to well workover, oil production and offshore catering. The recent global acquisition of Prior Diesel in the UK means that it has now further expanded its product line to include specialist wireline equipment.
Mr Pfeiffer continued: “This contract is a great example of our ‘Tropicalization’ project at Suretank Latin America that facilitates combining the best global practices with the needs of tropical markets, and providing equipment deployment time advantages as a result of local manufacturing. We are looking forward to the start of a long-term successful alliance between Suretank and Halliburton.”
All equipment at Suretank Latin America is manufactured to the highest international safety standards including DNV 2.7-1, EN 12079, ASME, Achilles FPAL, and NSAIDs, as well as Brazilian standards such as ABNT and Norman.
Suretank is the world’s largest manufacturer of tanks and cargo-carrying units for the offshore oil and gas industry and all of its products are produced to DNV 2.7-1 certification as standard.
Suretank products are found worldwide, including the North Sea, West Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Caspian, Sakhalin, India, Australia, Middle East and the Far East. Its product range includes chemical and acid tanks, helifuel tanks, offshore containers, baskets, mudskips and cryogenic tanks.
