Tanzania and DRC Sign MoU for Lake Tanganyika Exploration

Tanzania and the DRC have entered into a MoU to jointly explore and develop discovered resources in Lake Tanganyika.  The lake lies in between the countries of Tanzania, DRC, Burundi and Zambia.

“We have signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange experiences in exploration and exploitation of petroleum in Lake Tanganyika,”DRC President Joseph Kabila told a news conference in Dar es Salaam after talks with Tanzanian President John Magufuli.

“We believe that there is petroleum in Lake Tanganyika.”
