Tanzania’s Gas-to-Power Attracting Investors

Tanzania has attracted several potential investors for its 600-MW gas-to-power project in Mtwara run by US-based company Symbion Power.

The gas-to-power project will aid Tanzania in export of electricity to neighboring countries, once technical and financial elements of the project are finalized.

Symbion anticipates that the project will be financed with a mix of debt and equity. More meaningful financing negotiation begin in 2016.
