DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
petroWEB Inc. and TGS today announced a new collaboration that will provide free viewing access of the global TGS Log Library to clients of petroWEB’s well and log data management solution Enterprise DB (EDB). This collaboration enables companies the ability to view their internal proprietary well log data in context with TGS global log coverage. Companies will recognize significant time savings in data discovery and spend more time finding oil and gas and less time finding data.
Geoscientists can spend upwards of 60% of their time just searching for data and information. Often data exists but can’t be located resulting in the additional cost of recreating or repurchasing the data. In the quest for finding oil & gas they all need to know what they don’t know, so not being able to readily find the necessary data can be very costly for E&P companies.
“This is a challenging time for the oil & gas industry. With reduced staffs, data discovery and access can be even more costly. petroWEB is very pleased to be teaming up with TGS to offer companies access to the global TGS Log Library for viewing with their internal proprietary well log data. We believe this represents a ground breaking step in providing companies with better visibility into multiple, vital data sets to help drive their success in finding oil and gas,” said Gina Godfrey, President of petroWEB.
“TGS and petroWEB have worked together for years on a number of collaborative efforts. This new project will allow petroWEB clients to compare their own data coverage to the substantial well database of TGS. This should help clients of both companies make informed data purchase decisions quickly and effectively,” commented John Adamick, Senior VP Geological Products and Services.
