Three Kidnapped in Niger Delta

Monday, April 29, 2019

Three oil workers in Nigeria’s Niger Delta were kidnapped at gunpoint on April 27. The men were from Canada, Scotland, and Nigeria.

The gunmen attacked a rig owned by Niger Delta Petroleum Resources in Ogbele Rivers State according to a military spokesman, Major Ibrahim Abubakar.

Abubakar was cited as saying in the Reuters report that Nigerian troops were searching the surrounding swamps for the men.

This is the second abduction in less than a week. Just two days before the Ogbele abduction two Shell workers were kidnapped and their police escorts killed in Rivers State.
