Tokyo Gas to Source Mozambican Gas

In an effort to diversify its suppliers of natural gas, Tokyo Gas plans to source natural gas supplies from Mozambique once the East African country develops the reserves discovered off its coast.

According to reports out of Mozambique, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Leticia Klemens, informed officials from Tokyo Gas about natural gas extraction projects in the Rovuma basin.

Japanese firm Mitsui & Co. is one of the partners on Offshore Area 1 where the Anadarko Petroleum-led partnership has discovered substantial reserves.
