TransGlobe Production Up in Q2

TransGlobe Energy saw its Q2 production come in 6% higher than in the previous quarter. On the whole the company produced at a rate of 16,940 boepd, with the majority of that, 14,663 boepd, coming from Egypt

The company, over Q2, continued its negotiations in Egypt with the government to amend, extend and consolidate its Eastern Desert operations where it drilled two development wells during the quarter on the West Bakr.

The H-30 development well was drilled to a total depth of 5,454 ft and completed as a Yusr oil well. The well was placed on production at an initial field estimated rate of 70 bpd and is being optimized. The K-63 development well was drilled to a total depth of 4,741 ft and completed as an Asl oil well. The K-63 well was placed on production at an initial field estimated rate of 475 bpd.

The Eastern Desert also saw two exploration wells drilled by TransGlobe in Q2, the HW-2X on the West Bakr and the NWG 38 D-1 well on the North West Gharib. The HW-2X was drilled to a total depth of 5,425 ft and was cased as a Yusr oil discovery. The well was completed and placed on production at a field estimated rate of 715 bpd. The NWG 38 D-1 was drilled to a total depth of 5,570 ft and cased as a potential Red Bed oil well. The well is scheduled for completion.

The company, in the Western Desert, saw its development lease and plan for the South Ghazalat SGZ 6X oil discovery approved by EGPC and the Ministry of Petroleum. TransGlobe is targeting first production from this concession prior to year end. In addition, it relinquished the South Alamein exploration concession during the quarter.
