In Transocean’s latest Fleet Status Report it was reported that the Transocean Marianas rig has been booked for a gig in South Africa. The contract comes from the country’s state-run oil and gas firm PetroSA and is for a four-well program. PetroSA will pay a day rate of $370,000 ($118 million estimated backlog). The contract is set to begin in May.
