Tullow Picks Up New Acreage in Cote d’Ivoire

Sunday, January 21, 2018

Tullow Oil added to its acreage in Cote d’Ivoire with the award of two new blocks, CI-520 and CI-524. One of the blocks is located along the maritime boundary between Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.

The award of the two new blocks brings Tullow’s holdings in Cote d’Ivoire to nine blocks, eight of which have been acquired since an international tribunal in September ruled in favor of Ghana in a dispute over the two countries’ sea border.

Block CI-520 is located onshore near Abidjan, and CI-524 lies offshore the country in waters adjacent to Tullow’s acreage in Ghana.

Tullow operates the Jubilee oil and gas field in Ghanaian waters and is developing the TEN fields.
