The Turkish government has requested that state-run Turkish Petroleum Corp. (TPAO) bring its personnel home from Libya due to the increasing instability in the country.
Energy Minister Taner Yıldız told journalists that while TPAO operated six oil wells in Libya, the country’s present condition made it impossible for Turkish personnel to continue to work in Libya.
TPAO has also called home employees from Iraq due to the recent aggression by militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
