Turks Kidnapped Off Nigeria Released

The crew members taken off the M/T Puli on April 11 offshore Nigeria have been released. Pirates had kidnapped six Turkish members of the cargo ship’s crew.

“The six of them have been released and are back in Istanbul. All are in good health,” said Fehmi Ulgener, a lawyer for the shipping firm Kaptanoglu Denizcilik was cited as saying in a Reuters report. There was no mention as to whether a ransom was paid.

The M/T Puli was carrying liquid chemical fuels bound for Cameroon when boarded by the pirates.
