Italian construction workers kidnapped last year in Libya while working at ENI’s compound in the Mellitah area were freed. The Italian men were two of four abducted during a raid.
While reports are not clear, an official from Italy’s foreign ministry said that the other hostages may have been killed in the raid by Libyan security forces on the militant camp.
The two workers were freed in Sabratha, about 43 miles west of Tripoli, the head of Sabratha Military Council, Taher el-Gharaballi, told the BBC.
The workers were employed by Bonatti, an oilfield service company.
