Monday, October 15, 2018

Uganda has invited Malaysian firms to participate in its oil and gas sector. The East African country’s ambassador to Malaysia, Dorothy Samali Hyuha, during a meeting of oil industry stakeholders, praised the attractiveness of the hydrocarbon sector in her country and urged Malaysian investors to invest in exploration.

“Our bilateral relations are getting stronger and stronger. We cooperate in many areas and oil and gas is another area to explore,” the ambassador was cited as saying by the Malaysian news agency Bernama.

Hyuha also urged Malaysian investors to take an interest in the 1,445-km pipeline that will transport crude from Hoima, Uganda, to Tanga Port, Tanzania, for export to the international market.
