Uganda sent a delegation to Trinidad and Tobago to explore possible areas of cooperation as the East African country prepares to become an oil and gas producer in the next few years. The delegation included Uganda’s Minister of Energy Irene Muloni.
Uganda has substantial oil reserves and is expected to commence oil production within the next few years.
During their stay in Trinidad and Tobago the delegation visited the offices of the National Gas Co. (NCG), as well as NCG facilities in Guayaguayare, the UTT campus at Point Lisas, Petrontrin, Atlantic, and the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.
In his address to the gathering, Trinidadian Energy Minister, Kevin Ramnarine, noted that Trinidad and Tobago stood ready to partner with the Ugandan people to develop their oil and gas sector. The NGC, National Energy and Phoenix Park Gas Processors have been exploring possible investment opportunities on the African continent over the past few years.
