The CEO of Uganda’s state-run oil and gas firm, Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Josephine Wapakabulo, submitted her letter of resignation. Wakakapulo cited the need to focus on her family and new opportunities as the reason for her resignation.
In a letter to Emmanuel Katongole, UNOC’s chairman of the board, she gave August 13 as her last date. “This is to submit my resignation from the position of CEO of the Uganda National Oi Company with effect from 13th August 2019” the letter to Katongole read.
Wakakapulo in the letter went on to say it had been an honor and privilege to work with the chairman, the board, and the staff of UNOC as the company was set up and established to handle “the state’s commercial interest in the oil and gas sector.”
