Continental Focus, International Reach

Vitol and ENH Launch Trading Venture

Monday, September 23, 2019

Vitol and Mozambique’s state-run firm, ENH, launched a trading JV, ENH Energy Trading. The commodity trading firm will be Singapore, owned 51% by ENH and 49% by Vitol, with ENH’s shares expected to grow over time.

The JV, based in Singapore, will focus on energy commodities, in particular LNG, LPG, and condensate, to both satisfy domestic demand and export to other markets.

Mozambique has an estimated 125 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas resources, Vitol said.

“Our expectation for this JV is to embark on a path into international commodity trading markets to support our growth,” said Omar Mithá, chairman of ENH, in a release. “As the national oil company of Mozambique, operating actively in the upstream, we are confidently expanding our overseas operations, and building a reputable asset for future generations.”
