Seadrill secured another contract offshore West Africa. The contract, for use of its West Gemini drillship, is for nine wells. The contract contains three options for two wells each.
The company said that the total value for the firm portion of the contract is expected to be approximately $84 million with commencement expected in early Q4 2019 and running through Q4 2020.
The rig is currently finishing out its contract with ENI in Angola. The ENI contract expires at the end of August.
Just days before, Seadrill announced that it had secured a one-well contract with PC Gabon Upstream S.A. for the West Polaris to work offshore Gabon. Backlog is expected to be approximately $22 million excluding mobilization fees with commencement expected in September 2019 and running to the end of 2019.
