Egypt will add to its natural gas production totals before the end of 2017, according to an investor presentation held by ENI. The Italian firm said production from the giant Zohr field off the coast of Egypt would start in December.
The field is thought to hold an estimated 5.5 billion boe.
ENI discovered the field in August 2015 and if brought onstream in December, the fast-track development of the field will have taken just 27 months from discovery to start up.
