The Zohr field has gone live, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum. The Ministry said on December 16 that the giant gas field is now set to produce an initial 350 Mmcf/d of natural gas.
The production from the field gives the country a much-needed boost to its gas production totals; aiding in the country is decreasing and finally ending costly gas imports.
Discovered in 2015 by Italian super major ENI, the field contains an estimated 30 Tcf of gas.
