South Africa’s president Jacob Zuma released ambitious plans for oil and gas exploration offshore South Africa that he said could hold as much as 9 billion barrels of crude and vast quantities of natural gas.
The government wants to drill 30 exploration wells over the next decade. The president said, “Over the next 20 years, this could lead to the production of 300,000 barrels of oil and gas per day.”
