Sonangol should see the launch of its onshore licensing round before the end of the month, barring any other delays. The company will be putting 10 new onshore blocks located in the Kwanza and Lower Congo Basin.
The round was scheduled to take place in 2013 however, in October Sonangol announced the round would be delayed and be re-launched in Q1 2014.
The state-run firm will hold presentations for interested parties in Luanda on January 27, in London on February 3, and in Houston February 10. No details on when bids will have to be submitted or when the final decision will be made.
Sonangol confirmed that seven of the blocks would be in the Kwanza Basin and the others in the Congo Basin.
