Cameroon Expects Production Jump in 2014

Friday, February 28, 2014

SNH, the state-run oil and gas firm of Cameroon reported that it expects a 25% increase in oil production over 2014. The increase will take the West African country’s output to around 82,000 bpd.

“In 2014, Cameroon aims to produce around 30 million barrels, over 6 million barrels more than the previous year,” SNH said in a statement.

The licensing round that the country launched in mid-January offering up four oil blocks should also aid Cameroon in increasing its production numbers in the coming years, if all goes well. The four blocks up for auction are the Bomana, Lungahe, and Ndian River blocks in the Rio del Rey Basin and the Manyu block in the Mamfe Basin.
