Libya’s airport in Tripoli was the site of a militia mortar attack. A militia group shelled the airport, destroying an estimated 90% of the airplanes parked there.
Since July 13 Tripoli and Benghazi have been inundated with serious clashes and reports have 15 people killed in the two cities.
Government spokesman Ahmed Lamine told reporters that the government has studied the possibility of bringing in international forces to enhance security as the country slips closer and closer to anarchy with rebels and militia both battling for political and economic power.
Last week the UN mission in the North African country began pulling its people out due to the insecurity.
